Omaha

I am currently blogging from Omaha, Nebraska. Take it easy over there, it's not that exciting.

It's a lovely place, really. I mean it. OK, you caught me, its exactly as appealing as it sounds. Although I do like exploring the place where musicians Conor Oberst and Elliott Smith hail from. Knowing that I'm looking at the surroundings that also surrounded them when they wrote their earliest material is humbling. I definitely want to check out Homer's before I go. That's an indy record store, and it seems pretty cool.

I arrived yesterday morning, haven't done much of anything exciting. Execpt, of course, a trip to the emergency medical center this afternoon. But I won't bore you with that mediocre story.

The main reason my mother and I come out here is to visit my grandparents. They're aging quicker and quicker. I come to this realization when I walk into their apartment every time I arrive. Hell, I can't take it. I love them a lot, and although they are very far away and were never a big part of my life, they mean a lot to me. My grandmother just had knee replacement surgery and although she's recovering quite well, I still get the feeling something is up. I don't know.

My other family out here is great, I get to see my two cousins and their children. I have three aunts out here as well. It's nice to be able to go to one place and visit everyone. That is, of course, until the family drama ensues. But that's normal with every family I suppose. Tonights the big family dinner, and before it even happened theres been some issue and one aunt isn't going. C'est la vie.

Still on the job hunt. Just graduated college and I'm working at Blockbuster Media, (yes, that's right, it's changed from Blockbuster Video to Blockbuster Media.) Not exactly the post-grad job I wanted but it's paying the bills. I really wanted to work at the radio station I interned with, but that didn't work out just yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though. And you should too. Why? Because I said so.

Well, blogger, that's about all I have. I'll probably update again, because this place doesn't leave me with much else to do.

The weekend is almost here and hopefully when it arrives it will bring fun things with it.
